Our History

The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce (Hispano Chamber) was established in 1975, by 14 members of the Hispanic business community, as a private non-profit 501(c) 6 organization, focused on improving education and economic development opportunities in Albuquerque and throughout the state of New Mexico – and one of the largest Hispanic chambers of Commerce in the United States with a history of stimulating economic development.

Herencia

Here at our Chamber, we hold dear the concept of inheritance, symbolizing the legacy and contributions that shape our community. Our esteemed 14 creators of the Chamber, known as our Herencia Founders, laid the foundation for what we stand for today. Each subsequent Herencia donor has become an integral part of this legacy, immortalized on our Herencia Wall. Your support not only strengthens our Chamber but also becomes a part of its rich inheritance, shaping the future for generations to come. Thank you for being a part of our journey and contributing to our shared legacy.

I had students (nine this morning!) attend both, and they are valued events and treasured traditions. It means a lot to our school to have a continued relationship with ABQ Hispano Chamber of Commerce, and we appreciate the quality of opportunities you provide our students. Everything you do is exceedingly well executed. That does so much to raise the bar for our students. It makes them feel valued and proves to them that their community truly cares. Powerful stuff.
