Testimonials
I was an intern over the 2024 summer for the Chamber. I was focused in the membership department with Rocky Cruz, which was really amazing. I was able to learn a lot of different ways where we could help small businesses grow. My favorite part was attending events and be able to give new ideas to Rocky and Roberta on how we could help members and potential members of the Chamber. It has been nice being able to work with many different fields like accounting with Barbara, where we were able to do audits and just see the behind the scenes of accounting. It has been a really good time.

Well, I have to say Rocky’s been fabulous. Thank you. And the team, really. I think that, especially in my case, I’m reintroducing myself to the community. I know a lot of people in Albuquerque, but taking on a business all on your own, you really need a village. And the Hispano Chamber really showed up for me. They were really excited about what I was bringing to the table, even though I’m a newcomer to the chamber and coming back to Albuquerque, they could jump in and see me and hold my hand through this vision. I really wanted to have an opportunity to work with business leaders, to work with small business owners. That’s what we are. So that, you know, I can network and find people who might be going through some of the same challenges that I have. Our business, as an agricultural producer, crosses over to restaurants, manufacturing, and distribution. So, building that network through a chamber where its people who are passionate about seeing Albuquerque and New Mexico evolve and be better. I just thought I want to tie myself to an organization that has been here for a very long time, that has a stellar reputation and is actually putting their money where their mouth is and showing up for the community.

I am on the board of directors for the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce. I was a member before with Ardham Technologies and we saw such value and I’m so happy that I became a member of the board now. It’s a nice new family for me and wea re just seeing such amazing uptick with our business while going to events and the community and that’s what it’s really all about. It’s economic growth and it’s also community. So I’m showing up to new businesses that are popping up all over town, giving them our love and support and that really means a lot to me and to Ardham Technologies. We support the community on a day-to-day basis and how we can give back. We would love for you to become a member and join us.

This is Ruben Garcia with JB Media Group, formerly Johnny Boards. Our company is going through a rebranding through our growth. I’ve been a member of the Hispano Chamber for 20 something years. It’s really helped me from the very beginning. And the most important thing, I think, is getting to know the Chamber staff. If you can get to know all the staff, you know, come in, talk to them, let them know what you do. They are the great navigators for your business. Some of the things I’ve been able to do is ask them, not just, hey, do you know this person? But I say, can you do an email introduction? And sometimes that’s enough to kind of get you a warm introduction to someone you’re trying to meet. And New Mexico is one of those states where you’re one connection away from getting a lot of really good business. I can say by far, this Chamber has been the most beneficial investment I’ve made. I never thought as someone who does advertising, a small business would actually be on the board of directors. But I’m on the board, with some pretty heavy hitters. And that really does make a difference.

I work for Albuquerque Florist, and I am an Ambassador for the Hispano Chamber. We’ve been members for 15 plus years, and I’ve been an ambassador for about two years, it’s really helped our business by me coming out here and marketing, meeting new people, getting flowers on everyone’s tables. We do all the ribbon cuttings. I always come with gifts, which is flowers. Being an ambassador and being a part of the Hispano Chamber has really been great for our business.

The Hispano Chamber has been invaluable to our business. They send us quite a few referrals and also help spread the word about our restaurants and our catering department, and the ambassadors are awesome. We are there for all members when they us. We can give them recommendations, or if they just have questions, we’re there to answer those questions for them.

I interned for the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce this summer. I heard about this internship opportunity through my scholarship, Davis New Mexico Scholarship, and I thought it would be a great way to spend the summer to get experience in the workforce and more experience in the professional office environment. One of the things I really enjoyed about the chamber is that I got to work on a lot of different projects and every day is different. The chamber does a lot fo work in different areas to support the community. In particular, my favorite thing was probably the ribbon cuttings, which was like a grand opening event to attract the local community to local businesses, which I thought was really fun.

I interned for the Convention and Tourism department and so my experience in this internship was really an amazing experience. It was my first time ever working for a Chamber of Commerce and place that has a huge significance to the city of Albuquerque, but also the nation. The best thing that I got out of my internship was the collaboration that exists here and all the teamwork that is prevalent here. Everyone here is very collaborative, positive and enjoys your company here.
